I am a professional trumpet player, brass instrumental tutor and musical director based in York in the UK.

Brass Instrumental Tuition

The majority of my instrumental tuition takes place within schools, colleges and universities around the Yorkshire area although I work with a large portfolio of private students in my own custom-built teaching studio. My private tuition is provided both in person and through online Skype/FaceTime sessions allowing me to work with students around the world. I am also the Musical Director for York Jazz Initiative.

Performance Experience

I have over 30 years’ experience playing brass instruments, predominately trumpet and flugel horn but have also performed on cornet, tenor horn and baritone.

Although comfortable playing in all genres of music including classical, brass bands, concert bands, big bands, pop and rock bands and musical theatre productions the majority of my performances are jazz.

I perform regularly at jazz venues across the UK as a featured soloist and with Firebird Quartet.

I am a member of acclaimed party band Huge performing throughout the UK.

Musical Theatre

I have played the 1st trumpet book in dozens of musical theatre productions including West Side Story, The Wiz, Guys and Dolls and Jesus Christ Superstar.
